Qatar: Defence co-operation with Pakistan and Turkey

Qatar is in talks to establish a trilateral scheme to produce military equipment with Pakistan and Turkey, according to reports from Pakistan. Minister of state for defence affairs Dr Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah was in Islamabad on 27 October for a series of meetings with senior officials where the idea cropped up on several occasions. Al-Attiyah told Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif “we are desirous of buying Super Mushshak and JF-17 Thunder aircraft from Pakistan and also want to set up military cooperation and production of equipment in Qatar with the assistance of Pakistan and Turkey”
