Qatar: Ali Bin Abdullah promises Afghan donations

Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Thani has promised to donate $140m for housing projects in Afghanistan. Sheikh Ali’s Al-Gharafah NGO and Afghan urban development minister Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi recently signed two MoUs, committing $40m to housing construction and $100m as capital for joint venture investments including markets and hotels. Sheikh Ali, a businessman, is from the ruling Al-Thani’s Gharafah branch.
