Qatar: Al-Thani wedding

At the end of May, Sheikh Jassim Bin Khalid, a son of the former interior minister Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad, will marry his cousin, Sheikha Mariam Bint Abdullah Bin Ahmed. Sheikh Khalid was a powerful figure for several decades and had many children; his daughter (Sheikh Jassim’s sister) is the third wife of the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. Another son was the sometimes controversial interior minister of the 2000s, Sheikh Abdullah, who allegedly had connections to the Al-Qaeda strategist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
