Qatar: Al-Thani sheikh jailed

An Al-Thani sheikh has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his political activities, according to an opinion piece published in The New York Times (NYT) by former Al Jazeera Egypt journalist Mohamed Fahmy. The dissident sheikh was identified in the NYT article as Fahad Bin Abdullah. Sources tell GSN he is Fahd Abdullah Jassim Mohamed Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al-Thani, from the family’s Ahmed branch.
