Qatar: $11bn US deal

Qatar and the US signed an $11bn deal for Apache helipcopters and Patriot and Javelin defence systems on 14 July, the biggest reported US arms sale so far in 2014. Minister of state for defence affairs Hamad Bin Ali Al-Attiyah went to the Pentagon to seal the deal, attending a ceremony alongside his US counterpart Chuck Hagel.
