On 31 March, Qatar announced the biggest budget in its history for the 2011-12 fiscal year. The government forecast $44.5bn in revenues, a 27% increase on the previous year, and spending of $38.4bn, 19% up on 2010-11. As in the previous year, revenues were based on an oil price of $55/bbl.
