Qatar’s Museum of Islamic Art to celebrate ten years with Syria exhibition

The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) is planning a major exhibition entitled Syria Matters, to open on 23 November as part of its tenth anniversary celebrations. Designed by architect IM Pei, MIA opened in November 2008. The exhibition – co-curated by MIA director Dr Julia Gonnella and Rania Abdellatif – will bring together works from MIA and other significant Qatar Museums collections, with loans from the Louvre (Paris) and Berlin’s Museum of Ancient Near Eastern Art and Berlin State Library.
