The Supreme Court of Pakistan judgement, delivered on 28 July, that forced Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down has again brought the popularity of Gulf countries as a location for rich individuals’ undeclared assets under the spotlight. The case raises questions that have yet to be answered about the Sharif family’s business activities in the Gulf, notably in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
