Oman: Shihab Bin Tariq in London

Issue 1009 - 05 Feb 2016 | 1 minute read

Delegated by Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al-Said, Sayyid Shihab Bin Tariq Bin Taimur Al-Said took part in a celebration marking the Anglo-Omani Society’s 40th anniversary. UK attendees included Charles, Prince of Wales and Foreign and Commonwealth Office undersecretary of state Tobias Ellwood. Shihab Bin Tariq (with his two brothers) is among the most likely successors to Qaboos (GSN 981). Born in March 1956, he built a career in the Royal Navy of Oman (besides a period as deputy commandant of the SAF Staff College), becoming naval commander in 1990.
