Issue 1073 - 24 Jan 2019 | 1 minute read

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is seeking international partners to help it shoulder the technical difficulties and high cost of exploiting the Habhab field, a proven reserve of 2.4bn barrels (bbls) of ultra-heavy oil. The oil is classified a bitumen and the reservoir depth starts at 1,550 metres. The contract area is described by PDO as remote, with no existing facilities.
