Oman: ICSID to hear Sohar refinery dispute

The tribunal for a case brought by South Korea’s Samsung Engineering against Oman over its Sohar refinery contract was constituted at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in November. Usually, an ICSID tribunal will hold its first session two to three months after being constituted. Samsung’s construction division applied to ICSID in July; arbitrators for each side were appointed in September-October.
