Oman: First Typhoon arrives

Issue 1040 - 07 Jul 2017 | 1 minute read

The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) took delivery of the first of 12 Eurofighter Typhoon jets on 21 June. The ceremony was attended by RAFO commander Air Vice-Marshall Bin Ali Bin Mattar Al-Obaidani at Adam Airbase in Ad Dakhiliyah governorate. The fighter is the first to arrive in the sultanate from an order placed in December 2012 for 12 Typhoon and eight Hawk trainer aircraft. The delivery followed an official roll-out ceremony of the first jet in the UK in mid-May.
