Oman: Eni finalises exploration deals

Issue 1038 - 09 Jun 2017 | 1 minute read

Italy’s Eni has finalised a memorandum of understanding with Oman Oil Company (OOC) covering exploration for oil and gas in the sultanate. The deal was signed in Milan in late May by OOC chief executive Isam Bin Saud Al-Zadjali and Eni head Claudio Descalzi, with veteran oil and gas minister Mohammed Al-Rumhi looking on. The Ministry of Oil and Gas has granted exploration rights in the offshore Block 52 to Eni and OOC subsidiary Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production. The block covers an area of 90,000km2 and the award follows an international bid round launched in October 2016.
