Oil majors tread warily in Iran

Some 1,500 overseas companies from 37 countries attended the 22nd Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition in Tehran on 6-9 May, organised by National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and the Ministry of Petroleum. But while the Islamic Republic may be able to pull in the visitors, it is still struggling to convince anyone to sign deals.Exhibition director Mohammad Nasseri told the local Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA) that German companies had taken the most exhibition space, including the likes of Siemens and Wintershall Holding.
