The 18th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), held in Baku, Azerbaijan, drew in visitors from around the Gulf in the second half of October, offering opportunities for plenty of bilateral talks with representatives of 158 countries and international organisations. Qatar was represented by minister of state for foreign affairs Sultan Bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, who held talks with, among others, Serbian foreign affairs minister Ivica Dacic, from a country usually seen to have closer links with the UAE
