No consensus on priorities in Syria

The balance of forces may be shifting in Syria but, as yet, no side has shown itself willing to construct a workable peace plan, according to former UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, who resigned in May. “People are starting to say there is no military solution, but they are all still working towards a military solution,” Brahimi told the 14 October launch of a major new Syria project at London think tank Chatham House. “You need a peace plan.”
