Nigeria: Government revives Afam, Yola sales

The National Council on Privatisation (NCP), chaired by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, announced on 4 September that it had approved the start of privatisation of the Afam I-V thermal power plants in Rivers State. The NCP also ordered the fresh privatisation of Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC), the immediate revocation of the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex concession and approved moves to agree an out-of-court settlement in the tangled privatisation of Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (Alscon).
