Norway’s Scatec Solar on 19 December signed a joint development agreement with the Africa50 fund and Norway’s Norfund for its 100MW (80MW AC) Nova Scotia solar photovoltaic project in Dutse, Jigawa State. Nova Scotia was one of 14 solar projects that signed 20-year power purchase agreements with Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading at 11.5c/kWh in July 2016, when the project was being developed by Canada’s CPCS Development International and Nigerian consultancy Business Process Solutions Consult Ltd, both of whom remain involved in the project, which was acquired by Scatec in August.
