New Ghana team to tackle economy

the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will send a mission to Accra this month to discuss its three-year $918m programme with the new government of President Nana Akufo-Addo (AE 337/1). A key focus will be the budget deficit, which the incoming government puts at 8%, well ahead of the IMF target of 5.3%, as well as debt levels, presently 70% of gross domestic product.The new government is targeting double-digit growth to modernise the economy, with a focus on agriculture and agro-industry.
