The funeral of Prince Nawaf Bin Abdelaziz was held in late September. He was an adviser to King Salman and the father of Saudi ambassador to the UK Prince Mohammed Bin Nawaf. His mother, Munayir, was Armenian and said to have been a favourite consort of King Abdelaziz. Prince Nawaf was Royal Guard commander in the 1950s and at various times head of the Royal Diwan and Ministry of Finance. He was the General Intelligence Directorate head from 2001 to January 2005 but suffered from ill health. His only full brother was Talal. With his death, only 12 sons of King Abdelaziz are still living.
