Mozambique: Sweco gets Cahora Bassa consultancy

Sweden’s Sweco has been awarded a $5.2m consultancy contract for a rehabilitation project to refurbish the five generators at the 2,075MW Cahora Bassa hydropower plant. Sweco will identify the scope of the rehabilitation requirement, draft technical specifications, provide technical support for contractor procurement, and supervise construction works. The project is scheduled for completion in 2025. Brazil’s Intertechne Consultores is also a partner for the project.
