Morocco has always been much closer to the Abu Dhabi and Saudi leaderships than to the Al-Thanis, but – while appreciating the risks inherent in falling out with Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani – King Mohammed VI (‘M6’) has sought to bring the Qatari top team closer, as his kingdom attempts to introduce accelerated political reforms, bringing the Muslim Brotherhood-associated Parti de la Justice et du Développement into government.
