Dubai ruler and vice-president of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum met Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi at Zabeel Palace on 26 March, and discussed “current Arab developments” and the outcome of the Arab League summit, which ended in Kuwait that day, according to UAE state news agency Wam. Yemen is not a member of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), but depends on its financial support, and is hoping the spat between Qatar and GCC heavyweight Saudi Arabia, supported by the UAE, will not have economic fallout for Sanaa.
