Upstream update report: Kenya to offer new blocks
The Ministry of Energy has announced plans to offer seven oil blocks for licensing before the close of the current financial year, which ends in June. Energy and petroleum principal secretary Joseph Njoroge told journalists at a media briefing in Nairobi in early April: “We will offer the new blocks hopefully before the end of the financial year based on the current law. We can’t wait longer. We are losing every day as we wait, yet we have discovered oil. The entire country will be very busy as we invite serious prospectors.” This four-page project-by-project update provides block by block detail of Kenya's upstream sector. The report includes a one-page analysis article and a full page Kenya oil map.
