Libya abandons plans to increase production

Poor market conditions and Opec restrictions mean that Libya has no plans to increase production, despite many official statements in recent years, writes John Hamilton. Recent statements by National Oil Corporation (NOC) chairman Shukri Ghanem suggest that the ‘inertia’ that many international oil companies (IOCs) feel is holding back oil field developments will persist.
