Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah visited the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia on 7-8 November, for a string of meetings widely assumed to be part of attempts to repair ongoing disputes ahead of a Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) summit scheduled for Doha on 9 December. Sheikh Sabah met both Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum in Abu Dhabi on 7 November, from where he flew to Qatar for talks with Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani. GCC secretary-general Abdul-Latif Al-Zayani was also at that meeting.
