Kuwait: Politics as usual as cabinet resigns ahead of grillings

In a widely anticipated move, the cabinet submitted its resignation to Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah on 30 October, after less than a year in office. Prime minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and his ministers have been asked to stay on in a caretaker capacity until a new cabinet is appointed. This could take several weeks, but the process began quickly after emir on 1 November reappointed Sheikh Jaber as head of government.
