Kuwait: Lawyers take-election wins

Two lawyers have won the by-elections called after Islamist opposition members of the National Assembly (parliament) Jamaan Al-Harbash and Waleed Al-Tabtabaei were convicted by the courts for their roles in the storming of the National Assembly in late 2011.Bader Hamed Al-Mulla won the second constituency seat, receiving 4,657 votes; he had been running against 17 other candidates. Born in 1971, Al-Mulla holds a PhD in civil law and has appeared as a lawyer in front of the Court of Cassation and the Constitutional Court.
