Kuwait: Agility admits to criminal conduct in settlement with US

Issue 1038 - 09 Jun 2017 | 3 minute read

Logistics firm Agility Public Warehousing Company is to pay the US government $95m to settle fraud claims related to overcharging on a contract to supply food for US troops between 2003 and 2010. In a settlement announced by the US Department of Justice (DoJ) on 26 May, Agility also agreed to drop claims against the US Department of Defense for outstanding payments of $249m and pleaded guilty to a criminal misdemeanour offence for the theft of government funds. In return, the US Defense Logistics Agency will lift its suspension on Agility, meaning the Kuwaiti firm can once again compete for federal government contracts.
