Kosmos in Shell tie-up as West Africa looks to revive exploration

Kosmos Energy has announced a new alliance with Royal Dutch Shell to expand its exploration into south-west Africa, following its tie-up with BP in West Africa. Initially, the Shell alliance will focus on Namibia, where Kosmos has farmed into Shell’s PEL 39 in the Orange Basin, and São Tomé & Príncipe, where Shell is discussing taking an interest in Kosmos’ blocks 5, 6, 11 and 12.
