King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa held a phone call with United States president-elect Donald Trump on 14 December, several weeks after many other Gulf leaders had spoken with the incoming president. Hamad congratulated Trump on his election victory and voiced his keenness to develop strategic ties with the US.
