Kenya: Tullow resumes oil trucking

After a two-month hiatus, Tullow Oil has resumed trucking of stored crude from the South Lokichar Basin to Mombasa following an agreement with local communities who had been protesting about security and lack of jobs. President Uhuru Kenyatta formally launched the Early Oil Pilot Scheme (EOPS) with much fanfare on 3 June but, in late June, residents set up a blockade at Kalemngorok along the Lokichar-Kitale highway, forcing Tullow to halt operations.
