Issue 404 - 21 Nov 2019 | 1 minute read

The Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) on 14 November began prequalification of contractors to develop the 140MW Olkaria VI geothermal plant, which will be located around 120km from Nairobi in the Rift Valley. The project will be developed on a build, own, operate, transfer basis under the country’s public-private partnership framework. The plant will be adjacent to Olkaria II. Power will be supplied to the grid via the Olkaria IAU 220kV substation, which is located 3.75km from the site.
