Kenya: Lamu Basin well finds gas

Zarara Oil & Gas has encountered sub-commercial gas with the Pate-2 well drilled on Pate Island in the Lamu Basin. The well was a re-drill of the Pate-1 well drilled by BP and Shell in 1970, which drilled into the top of a clastic sequence and flowed gas and water.Pate-2 was drilled to a total depth of 4,307 metres penetrating the primary Lower Tertiary Kipini objective.
