Issue 400 - 27 Sep 2019 | 1 minute read

Geothermal Development Company (GDC) has completed the first well at the Baringo-Silali geothermal project. Baringo-Silali is part of the Bogoria-Silali geothermal complex and covers the Korosi, Paka and Silali prospects. The well, drilled using the Kifaru II rig, targeted the Paka prospect and is producing steam. “This well is a game-changer. It has proved the viability of the Paka geothermal field,” GDC managing director and chief executive Johnson Ole Nchoe said in a news release.
