Jobs for the family: Ibn Saud’s grand-children and great-grandchildren stake claim to state posts

Since April, GSN’s analysis shows that King Salman Bin Abdelaziz has made 24 government-level appointments of younger generation family members, including jobs for ten grandsons of King Abdelaziz (Ibn Saud), 13 great-grandsons and one great-great grandson. This marks a significant shift in the influence of younger royals. The postings, made in two waves, include three ambassadorships (Germany, Italy and the United States), the head of ground forces, two ministers (interior and state minister for energy), eight deputy governors, three governors, three advisors to the royal court and several positions in intelligence and youth welfare.
