Israeli-equipped surveillance aircraft arrive in Abu Dhabi

The UAE has taken delivery of two Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft fitted with advanced surveillance technologies by UK-based Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group. The aircraft were spotted on test flights near Cambridge and Boscombe Down in the UK and one was seen in August flying missions from Al-Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi, circulating north of the UAE coastline, with a ‘racetrack’ flight path typical of an aircraft collecting signals intelligence (Sigint). The new aircraft bear a strong aerodynamic resemblance to the Sentinel advanced ground surveillance aircraft operated by the UK Royal Air Force, which were also fitted out by Marshalls.
