Israeli gas to reach Egypt by 2020

Issue 401 - 11 Oct 2019 | 4 minute read

On 2 October, Noble Energy, Delek Drilling and their partners in the offshore Leviathan and Tamar fields announced that they had restructured the quantities of gas they are committed to sell to Egypt’s Dolphinus Holdings, an entity run by a trio of business people that will be an intermediary rather than the final consumer of the energy. Over a 15-year period from January 2020 to December 2034, the partners will export a total of 3tcf (85bcm) of natural gas via the Ashkelon to El-Arish pipeline, which was originally built to take Egyptian gas in the other direction.
