Fortunes have already been made and lost in Kurdish oil, with lawyers being some of the beneficiaries, thanks to the great number of complex legal cases the sector has produced. Many claims have been brought by intermediaries who facilitated the signing of production-sharing contracts (PSCs). In many cases, awards are estimated to be or to have been worth hundreds of millions of dollars or more.
