Iraq: Export pipeline via Jordan wins approval

Baghdad is seeking to expand its options for exporting its crude output by developing a new export pipeline via Jordan. The Iraqi cabinet approved plans for the project submitted by the Ministry of Oil at a meeting on 9 July. It is based around a 1m b/d pipeline from Basra to the Jordanian port of Aqaba.Jordan is keen to support such a project, which has long been mooted.
