Iraq: Bahrain embassy stormed in Baghdad

Demonstrators briefly forced their way into the Bahrain Embassy in Baghdad on 27 June before being escorted off the premises by security forces and arrested. They were protesting against the Palestinian ‘economic workshop’ that Bahrain had hosted on behalf of the United States. The Iraqi government issued a statement of “deep regret” at what it described as “subversive acts contrary to law, state authority and the immunity of diplomatic missions”.
