Iran link complicates BP’s Scottish play

Plans by British major BP to sell its 50% stake in the Rhum oil field to North Sea operator Serica Energy could have a problem, depending on how tough a line the United States decides to take with its sanctions on Iran.BP announced on 21 November it was selling Serica its 50% stake in Rhum, which lies 380km north-east of Aberdeen in 109 metres of water, along with its interests in the nearby Bruce and Keith fields.
