The Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (Nedaja) has moved its headquarters from Tehran to Bandar Abbas. Navy commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi on 21 November inaugurated the new headquarters, saying the switch “will increase the speed of operations and will allow the navy to have more focus.” Nedaja has some 18,000 personnel and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) naval arm 20,000, according to the United States Defence Intelligence Agency’s new Iran Military Power report.
