Iran: IOCs engage cautiously

Italian energy firm Eni has signed a memorandum of understanding with National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) to study the Kish gas field and the third phase of Darquain oil field, in the latest sign of cautious engagement by international oil majors in the country. NIOC has previously signed a number of other MOUs on the fields, including with UK/Dutch Shell Group and Russia’s Gazprom for the Kish field and with Philippine National Oil Company and Alghadir Investment for Darquain.
