Iran: Drone development

Issue 1053 - 08 Feb 2018 | 1 minute read

Tehran announced the start of production of a new unmanned aerial vehicle on 5 February. The Mohajer 6 drone is designed to undertake surveillance and carry out combat missions. It was unveiled during a ceremony attended by defence minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami. It is the latest in a series of domestically-developed drones to be unveiled, following the likes of the Saeqeh (Thunderbolt), Oqab (Eagle) and Shahin (Falcon), all of which were announced in 2016.
