Iranian officials unveiled a series of locally-made defence hardware and munitions in August and early September, as the Islamic Republic continued to sidestep international sanctions by developing its own military technology. Among the new matériel were the Yasin and Balaban guided missiles. The Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL) also unveiled a mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicle called the Raad and the Aras-2 off-road vehicle. MODAFL has offered its support to under-pressure domestic car makers, saying it can provide spare parts to replace the imports that are now blocked by United States sanctions.
