Iran: Agriculture minister forced out

Agriculture minister Mahmoud Hojjati resigned on 23 November, citing heath grounds, three days ahead of a vote in the Majlis-e Shura-ye Eslami (parliament) in which members were expected to impeach him. Hojjati had attracted criticism for his pursuit of higher agriculture exports, which critics said has led to volatile domestic prices.
