Concerns over the health of Bahrain’s veteran prime minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa have continued to mount in the wake of the 83-year-old’s continued absence from the public sphere, following medical checks on 11 October. The premier has not chaired the past five weekly cabinet meetings; deputy PM Sheikh Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa took the helm at Gudaibiya Palace on 14 and 21 October and Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa has led the three meetings since then.
