The head of the Al-Murrah tribe in Qatar has complained that he and 54 other male and female family members have been stripped of their citizenship. In a video circulated on Twitter Sheikh Taleb Bin Lahom Bin Shuraim said his citizenship was granted during the time of Emir Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Thani, who ruled from 1949 to 1960. He claimed it was revoked because he refused to “insult the [Saudi] kingdom, especially King Salman and his crown prince, Bahrain and its government”.
