The 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly began on 17 September and ran on until the end of the month. As ever, it offered the opportunity for diplomatic grandstanding and endless glad-handing among presidents, foreign ministers and others.Bahrain’s foreign affairs minister Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on 24 September.
